On March 25, AMVC participated in the Annual Audubon Ag Day, a day to expose the local eighth grade students to the scope of the agriculture industry. The eighth graders took a bus to area businesses. One of their stops was to a local farm where four rotating sessions were happening concurrently. Dr. Jodie Pettit of AMVC Veterinary Services led a veterinary science session by demonstrating a pig necropsy. She helped the students examine the inside of a pig and discover normal and abnormal organs. Each of the students wore a pair of plastic gloves, so they could feel the different organs and learn their function within the pig's body. The students asked Dr. Pettit questions and gained insight into veterinary medicine.
