With over 100 people in attendance, AMVC hosted their first annual Cow Calf Producer Social on Monday, March 25th, 2013.  Clients from our area came together to listen to speakers, visit with different pharmaceutical companies about their products, and socialize with other producers in similar situations.  Our first speaker of the evening was Dr. John Rodgers with Zoetis Animal Health, formerly Pfizer.  He spoke about artificial insemination in cattle and weighed the positives and negatives.  Our second speaker for the evening was Dr. Terry Engelken, a professor at Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Engelken spoke about Trichomoniasis and its effects on cattle producers in Iowa as well as issues we face when calving related to the cow's body condition score and nutrient intake.  Several door prizes were up for grabs thanks to the event sponsors: Merial, Zoetis, and Ivesco.

If you missed out on this incredible opportunity we hope to see you in attendance next year!
