Harlan, IA – AMVC Management Services, a diversified swine management company, recently recognized employees who achieved career milestones. Among the recipients was Dale “Farmer” Clemons, who celebrated his tenth work anniversary with AMVC.

Clemons joined the team at Handlos Family Farms Jacksonville, a sow farm near Harlan, in 2011 and is the farrowing assistant manager. In his role, he leads a team of employees who complete daily chores and care for sows as they give birth and piglets once they are born. Having farmed and raised livestock himself before working at AMVC, Clemons understands the ins and outs of animal husbandry.

“The key to working with pigs and people is to be patient,” says Clemons, “What I appreciate about AMVC is the opportunity to work at my own pace and implement new ideas around the farm.”

AMVC is proud to employ talented and dedicated employees who are committed to the swine industry.

“Dale is an asset to the farm’s leadership team and a great resource for team members who are newer to the swine industry,” commented John Wendt, sow farm manager at Handlos Family Farms Jacksonville. “We congratulate Dale on this honor and are very proud of his hard work and commitment.”

Clemons is a resident of Kirkman, IA.

AMVC is based out of Audubon, Iowa, and is the ninth-largest pork producer in the United States.
