8 Students Receive Scholarships From AMVC

2022 AMVC Scholarship Recipients

AMVC is pleased to present scholarships to eight graduated seniors pursuing post-secondary education. This year, AMVC awarded a total of $4,200 in scholarships.

“We understand the commitment students make when they choose to continue their education,” says Tammy Sauers, AMVC human resources generalist and scholarship coordinator. “We’re happy to support these students as they pursue their future career goals.”

The 2022 AMVC scholarship recipients included:

Ben Berte, a graduate of Pocahontas Area High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Iowa State University

Blythe Bolender, a graduate of McClain High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Wilmington College to major in Animal Science and minor in Business

Garrett Christensen, a graduate of Audubon High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Southeast Community College and enroll in the John Deere Tech program

Alex Foran, a graduate of Audubon High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Central College and major in Business

Jordan Schrader, a graduate of Audubon High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Des Moines Area Community College and major in Agribusiness

Jackson Shores, a graduate of Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Des Moines Area Community College and major in Construction Management

Hannah Thygesen, a graduate of Audubon High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Buena Vista University and major in Criminology and Criminal Justice and minor in Political Science

Braden Wessel, a graduate of Audubon High School; Post-graduation plans: Attend Iowa State University and major in Business

AMVC awards scholarships to graduating student employees who have worked for at least six months and are employed at the time of graduation. Students may receive up to $1,000 for tuition, books, or living expenses. Scholarship amounts are determined based on a student’s number of hours worked and length of employment with the company.

AMVC and our farm shareholders are proud to offer the next generation opportunities to explore careers in the agricultural industry while they’re in high school. As a leader in veterinary medicine and swine production, we believe investing in future agricultural leaders and advocates plays a vital role in the industry’s success.
