Milligan receives AMVC Rising Star Award

Christopher Milligan of Pomeroy was recently named the AMVC Rising Star during the 1st Annual AMVC Awards Program held in Des Moines, Iowa. This award is for an individual who holds an assistant manager position at the farm and is a culture builder by leading by example and living out the AMVC Core Values.

Milligan was selected as the AMVC Rising Star from amongst seven other farm employees that were nominated by their peers. The nominations were judged by two individuals on the National Pork Board staff through a scoring system. All AMVC employees were eligible to nominate a fellow employee for one of the five awards given out annually. This year, 65 nominations were submitted across the company.

Milligan is the assistant manager at Hawkeye Six, a breed to wean sow farm managed by AMVC Management Services in Laurens, Iowa.

He is a hard worker and was praised by his peers as someone who is a father figure on the farm. A nominator shared, “Chris is not only an outstanding individual, but an outstanding role model. He gives 100 percent and goes above and beyond every day.”

Along with the distinction of AMVC Rising Star, also received a personalized plaque, jacket and $500.

Milligan, along with his fiancé, Lisa, have a son, Colden, and are expecting a baby girl this month.
