AMVC is hosting 21 interns for the summer of 2015. The students hail from seven different states and will be spending their summer working in sow farms in Iowa, Indiana, Ohio and North Dakota. The students will gain first hand experience on a farrow to wearn sow farm to complement their college course work in the agriculture field.
"We are excited to welcome these young and talented students into our company and community. They are passionate about the swine industry, so it will be exciting to watch their development and skill set grow at our farms," said Jennifer Looker, intern coordinator.
During their 13-week internship they will be involved in the day-to-day tasks of raising pigs, interacting wiht AMVC staff and veterarians and participating in industry and community events.
