Alysha Vance, a junior at Audubon High School, was named the 2015 Jr. Citizen of the Year at the Audubon Community Banquet. She has worked as a student employee at Green Flash II, a sow farm near Audubon for several years.

She has been an active FFA member since eighth grade and participated in several career development competitions, community service projects, and leadership events. Since her freshman year, she has served as a student senate representative where she has helped  with Project 60 Dinner, and the Veteran’s Day Memorial Service.

Last spring, she was inducted into the National Honor Society and helps with their community service projects, such as Spring Clean-up Day, the Cystic Fibrosis Dance, and the Blood Drive.

In Alysha’s nomination letter, she was described as embodying the ideals of integrity, respect, character and responsibility- and that's what kind of citizens we want in Audubon.

Alysha is also member of the Audubon Peppy Pals 4-H club. After she finishes high school, she plans on pursuing a Veterinary Medicine Degree, to follow her dreams of becoming a veterinarian, and helping animals.

Alysha is the daughter of Tony and Amy Vance, who are both AMVC employees.

Congratulations, Alysha Vance!
