Job Description:
Operate, and oversee all the operator areas within the mill (i.e., receiving, batching, production floor, loadout, etc.) to assure compliance with established procedures relative to quality, productivity, and safety by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Follow standard operating instructions/procedures in the performance of all operator areas, including flushing procedures for batching, along with record keeping
- Operates all area equipment/tools (computer, grinders, tools, forklift, etc.)
- Prepare and maintain shift activity reports, tracks production reports, sampling reports, bag dump reports, reconciliations, etc.
- Perform daily feed, bulk, and micro ingredient inventory
- Perform cleaning duties listed out in standard work and as requested by the supervisor
- Maintain and ensure the safety of all employees and assets of the company
- Maintain and ensure the orderliness and housekeeping of all areas of the feed mill
- Responsible for filling micro-ingredient, tote system, and maintaining necessary stock at the batching areas, and receiving when needed
- Responsible for following all environmental laws
- Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor
- Perform other duties as defined by manager/shift supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Able to read and speak English
- Previous feed mill or manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Will work in wet and/or humid conditions, and around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and cold
- Strong mechanical aptitude
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to frequently climb over, under, and around feed mill areas
- Must be able to walk and stand on concrete and unpaved areas for longer periods
- Must be able to lift up 50 lbs
- Must be willing to learn and perform the different areas of the feed mill process
- Must be able to work with and around a wide range of chemicals and different feed ingredients
- Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment
- Ability to work in a dusty environment with potentially adverse weather conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour with a $1 shift differential

SCHEDULE:
- 2nd shift: Monday-Friday position starting at 4:00 pm and ending between 12:00 am and 2:00 am. However, the schedule will be fluid as mill evolves and work demand increases.
- This schedule may also vary due to workload, weather, and holidays. Possible Saturdays.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Driver's License - Class A preferred
