Heimerman named AMVC sow farm manager in Harlan

AMVC Employee Services recently hired Trent Heimerman of Harlan as Sow Farm Manager at Handlos Family Farms South, a breed to wean sow farm near Harlan.

In this role, Heimerman will be responsible for providing daily leadership and direction to his 16 employees, as well as, overseeing and monitoring the farm’s production performance.

Heimerman brings over 12 years of swine experience to the position. He was previously an assistant sow farm manager and most recently worked within swine finishing barns.

“Trent has the knowledge, experience and work ethic to make him an excellent manager. I am excited to see him lead his team and be a high producing farm,” said Nick Weihs, AMVC Director of Leadership Development.

Heimerman is married with two kids and three grandchildren. He is active in the community by serving as the Shelby County Fair sheep and goat superintendent.

AMVC Management Services manages Handlos Family Farms South, a locally-owned family farm. AMVC has a swine management presence across ten states and is headquartered in Audubon, Iowa.
