Services

Annual Examinations and Preventative Medicine

Annual examinations are very important for your pet. Animals often attempt to hide issues to the best of their ability, so identifying a problem early with your pet can sometimes be quite difficult. Discussing your pet’s routine, as well as a thorough physical exam performed by your veterinarian, may be able to detect concerns early and we can then work to resolve them.

Preventive medicine is the best way to keep your pet happy and healthy. Some of the diseases we aim to prevent are treatable and some are not. Either way, preventing these issues rather than dealing with them later is much easier on both you and your pet! Your veterinarian will be happy to work with you to create a prevention protocol best suited for your pet’s lifestyle.

Diagnostic Capabilities

We are proud to offer our patients state-of-the-art in-house diagnostic equipment. This includes but is not limited to digital radiography, a variety of ELISA screening tests, and hematology/blood chemistries.

Microchipping

Whether the cat slips out the door while you are bringing in groceries or the dog sprints after a rabbit, microchipping provides the best chance for your pet to be returned to you. Unlike collars that can easily be removed, microchips are a permanent means of identification. It is a simple procedure where the microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is injected beneath the surface of your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. Ask us more about microchipping at your pet’s next appointment!

Anesthesia, Surgery, and Pain Management

General anesthesia is necessary for a variety of surgical procedures. Tailoring anesthetic protocols to each specific pet and the use of complete cardiac and respiratory monitoring ensure the safest possible anesthetic event.

Routine surgeries offered include spaying and neutering, declaw, and dental work. Other specialty surgeries may be offered after discussing your pet’s needs with the veterinarian.

Here at AMVC we know that patient comfort is very important in the healing process postsurgically, both mentally and physically. Exceptional pain management is an important part of our patient care.

Boarding

Our staff works hard to provide your pet with a comfortable boarding experience. Those boarded with us are monitored throughout the day, walked 2-3 times per day, fed twice daily, and medicated (if needed). We do our best to accommodate each pet based on their individual needs.

Pharmacy

AMVC carries a full line of products to meet all of our patients’ needs. These range from medicated shampoos to parasite prevention to prescribed medications and many others.

Nutrition

Whether your pet is a competitor in training, has specific nutrient requirements, or just needs to lose a few extra pounds, we can work with you to create the perfect nutritional plan.

We also offer a wide variety of both regular and prescription diets to fit any pet’s needs.

Hospice and Euthanasia Services

Most of us here at AMVC are pet owners ourselves. In that regard, we understand how difficult losing a friend and family member can be; however, maintaining a good quality of life for our animals is also an important part of being a responsible pet owner. We work with clients and provide services that strive to maintain their pet's comfort and dignity until the very end.
