Kingsley and Lenox students learn about modern pig farming

posted on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in News

Area high school students recently learned first hand about modern swine production and about the sow farm in their local community during thier agricultural class. Alicia, our public relations coordinator, was invited to present to Molli Griffin's ag classes in northern Iowa at Kingsley-Pierson High School and to Christina Williamson's Ag I and Ag II classes at Lenox High School in southern Iowa.

Some students had experience with pigs or knew someone who has pigs, while others were learning about it for the first time. Alicia's presentation covered topics like animal housing and care as well as explained how farmers keep their animals healthy.
