Each year AMVC is invited to speak to the Introduction to Animal Science Class at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. Alicia Humphrey, AMVC public relations coordinator, spoke with the class about the production practices on today's swine farms, as well as, described various career opportunities with AMVC. SWCC is about twenty minutes from an AMVC farm, Taurus Sow.
Some student remarks after the presentation included:
"I learned that AMVC really cares for their animals, employees and the communities." -Taylor, freshman
"I learned more about biosecurity. I had no idea that much cleaning and sanitation took place in hog farms." -Haylea, sophomore
