Lorimor Fire Department Receives Donation from AMVC

On September 10, the Lorimor Volunteer Fire Department hosted a hog roast during Watermelon Days, the annual town festival. This year, AMVC donated two cull animals to the worthy cause, as AMVC employees, Mitchell Clymer (Aries Sow) and Clayton Portwood (Taurus Sow) are members of the department.

The hog roast is the department’s largest fundraiser and over $700 was contributed this year.

“There were many people that showed up and donated more than the meal cost. A good time was had by all,” said Portwood, the Lorimor Assistant Fire Chief.

The department is voluntary, so the money collected will be used to purchase new equipment and gear, as well as, provide donations to families who are affected by a fire.

AMVC is proud to support the surrounding communities and local emergency crews.
